Adobe’s Read Out Loud

Both Adobe Acrobat and Adobe Reader offer Read Out Loud. This tool allows you to listen to your PDF documents one section, page, or document at a time.

To activate Read Out Loud:

  1. Go to View
  2. Choose Read Out Loud
  3. Activate Read Out Loud
  4. Go back to View
  5. Choose Read Out Loud again
  6. Choose Read This Page Only or Read to End of Document (there are pause and stop options available)

Note: If you follow steps 1-3, you also have the option to click on one area at a time. This may be useful if you’d like to navigate one sentence or paragraph at a time.
