Continuing with my spring cleaning series, this week I’d like to focus on deleting old videos from Panopto.
For those of you who don’t know, Panopto is our lecture capture software that has its own server to store the recordings. Instructors have been utilizing Panopto for years, recording frequently throughout each semester. In most cases, instructors record new videos each semester which means that over time, these recordings add up and take up valuable space on the server.
This is the predicament we’re in now. Our Panopto server is reaching capacity as employees continue to store recordings on the Panopto server without removing old, unused videos.
If you’re someone who has recordings on Panopto that are no longer in use, please take some time out to delete them. If you want to save a copy of the video elsewhere before deleting it for good, check out Panopto’s documentation on How To Download Podcasts. And if you need help, please feel free to reach out to me!
